Hi Everyone,
Well I'm nearly back on track....early February and my
fingers are clicking on the keyboard! I'll give you a little brief on
what happened on Australia Day and an update on what's happening on the
Park. If you haven't had a look at the Home page make sure you do
before you log off. It gives you an insight into what we'll be doing
over Easter and let me remind you that the Grilla night run will be on near
the end of February. Have a look at the link for further details.
Australia Day
As normal, this was a busy weekend for us! We were quite surprised
at the amount of people that came on the night before...taking the advantage
of getting a real long weekend! The organised events didn't start
until until Saturday when we ran Beer O'clock. For once, I didn't have
to kick it off as we had plenty of volunteers wanting to have a go. We
had standard stock cars to highly modded. As an experiment (i.e. see
if it works), I have loaded a video here of one of the successful runs.
Try it and see!

After everyone had done their thing we ran a Dad's race up the hill!
All these fit men!! A 16 year old won, he had been up and down before
the first of the fitties had reached the point half way up the hill!
Maybe there's a moral here...we sit in our cars too much?
The evening moved on to a gentle night run. We must have had at least
25 cars. Too many to do anything hard so it was a gentle stroll around
the property. Unfortunately, due to the wind it was just a little bit
to blowy to stop anywhere for long. An hour or so later we were all
back at the campsite doing our own things...Oh well you can't account for
the weather!
The following day we did the kids treasure hunt, with cars going all over
the property trying to find the clues we had set...great fun and then a
sausage sizzle to finish!
The drags were run later in the day and with the huge variety of cars we had
an interesting time watching them do the jumps. The ladies
participated and there was a great race between the two leaders with less
than a half a second separating them at the finish! Times for
the two laps were: Keryn Easy 1.12.50 and Luke Ayers 1.01.35,
both are new records for the race. The drags completed the weekends
games and everyone headed back to the campsite except for a few stalwarts
who stayed to have a drink around the fire at the office.
The weather was reasonably kind and everyone who came to stay participated.
A fantastic weekend....bring on Easter!!
Tracks
We had a brave group out doing a new track during the weekend. With
more than a few scrapes and bumps and a vehicle that had to stay here until
we could get it on a trailer, Pete's Pass has been born! I drove it a
few days later and there a few areas which will challenge you and one in
particular where the heart pumped a bit quicker! We are going to have
a few more done for Easter so that even people that are regulars to the Park
will have some different tracks to have a go at!
This is just a short one this month as it was only a while ago I updated you
all.
Well, that's all for now folks. Thanks to everyone who has visited us and we look forward to welcoming you in 2008.
Hope to see you here soon.
Cheers
