Newsletter 10 – May 2007
Hi All,
I hope everyone had a good break over the long May weekend. Back to
work and reality hits again! We've been busy since then and I've got quite
a lot of news to tell you about. So here goes....
The 2007 Logan Challenge
We are very excited to have been selected to host the annual Logan Challenge
event in October. The date is yet to be firmed up but it will be held at
the Springs 4x4 Park! For those of you who are not familiar with the Logan
Challenge, it is a survival-based 4WD event. Kind of like the Outback Challenge
(but on a smaller scale of course). However, it is different in that it is not
an individual effort. In the past, there have been 5-car teams, however this
year, they are going to trial it with 3-car teams. The Competition is accepting
12 teams (36 competing cars), run over the Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. It
will have everything from hard driving, winching, GPS runs, mechanical stages,
first-aid stages... basically anything 4WD related. I'll keep you all
updated as details become firmer, but I hope you can try to come and support the
event.
Live Band 26th May 2007
Why not come and do some camping and 4WDing and then join in a party on the
Saturday evening? Come and listen, dance and generally have ball with
Brisbane band IN2. Places are limited so book early!
Mad Monday
Some of you may have seen a strange looking buggy appear at the Park just as
you were leaving to go home on the May weekend. I went out with these
guys and we ended up at the waterfall area. If you wanted to see some
hard core driving then this was just the place to be! Have a look at
some of the pics below. The buggy made short thrift of some of the
climbs around the waterfall but the real interesting part was the Patrol
trying some of the climbs too.
Don't think he had to get dragged out of this either! The strap was
basically being pulled by a few strong fellows to help him with traction!
Yes he did drive out with very little damage except for a few scratches on
the bar work! Brilliant! I might see if we can organise a "show"
day and we can all watch some of these guys go through their paces.
Mail me if this is of interest!
Tracks
We keep making them! Three more tracks for you to have a go at.
Avago, Snakepit and Bens Crack! Don't ask too much on the last one.
Suffice it to say that it is definitely hairy and as everyone goes up it
then it will become much harder! As I broke the Cruiser in Bens Crack
on the Saturday we were forced to bring the old girl out of retirement.
Bring on the Pajero! Sundays go was definitely more gentle, after all
it was Mothers Day, but we still managed to have fun. We have not
quite finished the track yet but she'll be a good moderate one that everyone
can have a go on, with a few challenges thrown in!

A big thankyou to all of you who have visited us recently. To those
that haven't...hope to see you soon!
Cheers
Keep on trackin!
