Newsletter 11 – June 2007

Hi All,

I hope everyone that visited us this month had a great time!  The weather has been slightly unpredictable for this part of the year, one day blue skies and the next, wet, windy and very cold!  So for all of you who braved the elements well done!  I would think everyone is saying thank God for campfires!

Xmas in July

Over the month of July we'll be running regular weekends to celebrate the Brass Monkey season on the Granite Belt.  We'll be doing our "roast nights" and all the decorations will be up!  We have installed a "hot line" to Santa and he has promised to visit all the kids who come!  So if you have a group of people who want to have some fun and who enjoy eating, give us a ring and book your space!

Ladies "Pamper" Weekend

We're going to organise a ladies weekend.  Who says a four wheel drive park is just all about driving?  We thought we should do something special for all those ladies who come along but are not necessarily huge four wheel drive enthusiasts!  Starting with a gentle wine tour and followed by a Body Shop experience, hairdresser and other such things that ladies like.  Then finish off the day with wine, campfire and of course a good old gossip!  We have set a date of the weekend of 17th August.  So guys, come to the Springs 4x4 for your favourite pastime and know that your best friend will enjoy it too!  Book early as I have a funny feeling this will be popular!  If you want to come along and join the fun or have an idea of how we could make it even better let us know.

June Long Weekend

We were completely booked out for the long weekend.  The weather was not kind on the Friday and Saturday and both Toni and I thought we would have a lot of people pulling out.  To our surprise just about everyone who booked turned up...so thanks everyone!  The plan was to do the Beer o'clock hill on the Saturday followed by the night drive and car treasure hunt on the Sunday.  Beer o'clock was postponed as it was just too wet to try "the hill"  The following day was blue skies and sunny, and I went out to put the Treasure Hunt clues out on the Park.  After just hiding two, I drove on to the third whilst chattering with my co conspirator Steve.  Suddenly, the car lurched upwards with a bang and this was quickly followed by another loud noise.  The front end lifted off and then the rear got a kick and ever so slowly the damn thing rolled!  After turning off the engine, and with a few bruises and a knock on the head we crawled out of the skyward window.  Mr Croosa did not look very healthy.  Steve went to get another car and then we winched the ute back onto its wheels.  The left hand side was not too attractive and the cab had been pushed back on the chassis.  I can now fit a 5 foot 5 inch passenger and a 6 foot driver!  The moral of this story is always watch where you're going (even if you've done it hundreds of times, which I had), always wear a seat belt, (it stops bruising and keeps you safe when admiring the view whilst on your side), and look out for camouflaged tree stumps, (it no longer exists!).

Over Overand back up!

This rather stopped our organised activities for the weekend...so to all those people, my apologies!  Finally, a big thankyou for everyone who turned out...it was a great effort and rewarded by decent weather in the end!

4x4 Show

The following weekend, Westside 4x4 Accessories had organised a group trip to the Park.  Ray from "The 4x4 Show" (Bris31) was also there to take some film of them at the Springs.  So keep your eye open and you should see some more exciting pics from the Park!

Extended Family

As most of you who have been here know, we have a large family of dogs who happily greet you as you come to sign in.  This has been extended by ten!  Anyone interested in a Wolfhound cross Shepherd please contact us as they will soon be ready to leave.  Free to good families....Cute lil critters...but 15 dogs would just be too much!!!!

A big thankyou to all of you who have visited us recently.  To those that haven't...hope to see you soon!

Cheers

Keep on trackin!

Iain, Toni and Jordan
