Hi All,
I think we may have seen the worst of the Winter now, (I probably
shouldn't write this!).. We had one auspicious occasion in July when
the thermometer went to -12. Pretty cold! Another day I had nine
T shirts on and 3 Jumpers and the wind still got through to me.
Currently, we've been enjoying lovely blue sky days and cool nights.
Great weather for camping! We've been surprised at the amount of
people who braved the elements in July. Well done everyone!
The EFS 2007 Logan Challenge
Well a date has
now been set! 19-21st October 2007 here
at the Springs 4x4. Please, if you can, try and get here to support
the event. We'll be extending the camping grounds so that no one is
disappointed and providing a new parking area so that you don't have to walk
far to get in amongst the action. It's our first major 4x4 event and
we're tremendously excited that it's going to be held at our Park.
Full catering will be available for competitors and spectators alike.
EFS, the Springs 4x4 park sponsor will also be the prime sponsor of the
Logan Challenge and has agreed to provide some $2500 of prizes for the
winning team. It'll be a big weekend for us and we hope we'll see a
lot of friendly faces amongst the crowds!
Ladies Pamper Weekend 18th August 2007
Our first Ladies pamper is this weekend. It includes a
Wine tour, lunch, body shop and facials and then party, party!!
We already have one bus full of ladies raring to go! If
you want to join in then let us know very quick! Costs are
$55 per person. As usual the boys will just have to amuse
themselves but I reckon that might not be too hard!
Xmas in July
Santa, again this
year appeared at the Springs for Xmas in July. He seemed to have lost
a bit of weight so he must be working very hard at the North Pole.
Even though the weather was fresh (to put it mildly), everyone enjoyed the
spread put on by Toni and her bunch of elves. The Gold Coast 4x4 Club
for there second year running were here and kept us on our toes with gentle
banter and yarns which you would only hear around a camp fire! Thanks
to all the Clubs and groups who came in July!

Beer O'clock
We've had quite a few groups
through the Park and a lot of them have a go at Beer O'clock hill.
Some succeeding, others not. Last weekend was perhaps from my
perspective pretty interesting. As normal, to start the ball rolling I
had to put a sick Cruiser through its paces up the hill and then others
joined in. Jokingly, I said to one gentleman in the crowd that I would
take his car up. You could of knocked me down when he threw me his
keys to his Cruiser wagon got in the passenger seat and said let's go.
I tentatively took it up the first time and then to my surprise found that
it had front and rear lockers! With a pre warning to my passenger that
I was prepared to hit the gas this time, I selected 2nd and booted it!
Three quarters of the way up I realised this baby was going to do it and
with many shouts of glee and encouragement we sailed over the top.
Full of adrenalin, we then made the decision to take it down the hill!
Great fun! Thinking my fun was over I returned the vehicle to it's
rightful owner and then suddenly another gentleman came over and said would
I like to take him up in his vehicle! Two cars in less than 10
minutes....brilliant!
Thanks to everyone who visited us. Hope to see
you again soon.
Cheers
