Hi Everyone,
It's been a while since I have updated the site so I thought
it was about time I got on with it! We've had a lot happening since June and
time just seems to have slipped by so quickly. July was all about
Christmas in July and Santa this year was very busy having to visit the
Springs every weekend in the month! On one weekend alone we catered
for some 90 people. I have to say by the end of the month Toni and I
were happy not to cook another roast for a while!
The weather as normal was pretty cold; with one night in particular, the
thermometer going down to -7 on the campsite. Nothing a large fire and
a few neck warmers couldn't sort out!
August for us was all about the 2008 EFS Logan Challenge. Having
hosted the event last year we were probably better prepared than previously
but we still had some minor hick ups which we had to overcome. They
say the more you do things the better you get and certainly this years event
seemed to run very smoothly. I base this on the amount of times I am
threatened with divorce from Toni and the two occasions this year were much
improved on last years statistics!! The event was filmed by 4WDTV and
we understand that it will go to air in the next few weeks. So keep
your eye out for this!
The Park has changed somewhat in the last few weeks with two one way
roads in and out of the campsite. This has stopped any queuing when we
are very busy and provides easier access to the campsite. The large
hill you originally had to negotiate has been made much easier and we can
proudly say that you CAN get in with a 2wd now! We have also extended
the camping areas on the Park again providing more room for campers and
4wders. The Bog Hole has been dug out and when filled with water
becomes a fearsome obstacle! Cars with snorkels and passengers/drivers
with bathing suits only!
We have resurrected the Grilla Night run and intend running another
evening on the 18-19th October. Get your bookings in quick because
this has proved very popular. For more details click

A gentle reminder to anyone who brings dogs onto the park. They
must be kept under control at all times. All our neighbours are sheep
or goat farmers and take looking after their animals very seriously.
One of our young dogs strayed onto a nearby property and was shot dead.
The No blame is attached to the farmer as he is quite at liberty to do
this.... so please keep a good eye on your pets.
On a better note...Spring at the Springs is in the air!
Temperatures are going up and this is the absolute best time for camping.
So get the cobwebs off your camper or tent and come visit us! Don't
forget that Tough Tracks round 3 is here on the 27-28th September so if you
want to see some awesome rigs and driving come and have a look.
Toni, Jordan and I hope to see you here soon.
