Newsletter June 2008

Hi Everyone,

Out of Autumn and into the Winter months.  So far we have not experienced a real cold one here but I'm sure that it'll come!  So remember if you are coming to visit us bring your warm bits and something to cut the wood for a large open fire!

Competitions

We've had some great news on the Competition front.  We have been asked to host the EFS Logan Challenge for the second year running in August and Round 3 of Tough Tracks 4x4 Challenge in September.  Dates for both competitions can be found on our home page, (click here), and we hope that you will come and compete or support both of these premier events.  More information will be forthcoming as we get nearer to the dates but one change from last year is the Park will be open for driving outside of the competition areas.  So come and watch, drive and have fun!

Queens Birthday Weekend

On the Monday prior to the long weekend Toni and I looked at the forecast...wet, wet, wet.  Not a good sign.  Big Low over Brisbane, floods on the Northern shores.  Good job we're on the other side of the Ranges!  The weather was kind to us, with no rain and plenty of blue skies.  It always seems to be the same, if Brissy is wet we are dry!  Thankyou everyone who turned up; most started in the rain and only once reaching the Springs did it get dry.  Great effort everyone!

We had our normal events on.  Beer O'clock was interesting, as with the small amount of rain we had, the hill gave great traction and anyone who had a locked up car sailed up!  We had our first lady to complete the hill too!  The night run ran smoothly, with the exception of myself who managed to get stuck on the way home!  On the Sunday we ran the drag and obstacle  circuit, with changes made to the circuit to include a dam crossing and a small hill climb.  Great fun to watch, but again we will make a few safety adjustments for the next time!

On the Sunday evening we were sitting on the veranda at the office and we could hear singing in the distance.  It slowly grew louder, and then the wine tour bus arrived!  A group had been out for the whole day and they had obviously enjoyed themselves.  The bus definitely looked lighter as it left the Springs and all the wine had been unloaded!

Xmas in July

If your looking for somewhere to go in July why not come to the Springs?  We have Xmas in July all of the month, with the house and back area all decorated.  Come and enjoy a great roast meal and yummy homemade desserts and treat the kids to a visit from Santa.  There are a few places left so give us a ring!

Pictures

Sometimes Toni and I just don't get the time to get all the pics that we want.  If you have a photo of interest and would like it on the wall or website, email it to me!

Polo Shirts, Windscreen Stickers and small stickers

If you enjoyed your stay at the Springs, why not buy a small memento of your stay?  We are starting to get a few things now that you can take home with you!  Ask at the office next time you are here!

For Sale Page

We've been asked to help market some camping and 4x4 items that people want to sell.  Starting next month we'll have a "For Sale" page on the web site.  Putting up your item is totally free, all we would insist is that it is related to the activities in the Park, (camping, 4x4 accessories etc).  You may be surprised how quickly it goes!  So if you have an item that you don't want but someone else may, just email me at info@thesprings4x4.com.au and I'll include it on the page.

Well that's all for now folks, hope to see some of you soon....

Cheers

Keep on trackin!

Iain, Toni and Jordan
