Hi Everyone,

Welcome to our first Newsletter of the New Year.  I've been a bit remiss recently and have only been updating the site on an irregular basis...hopefully I can now get back on track!

What a year it's been for us at the Springs 4x4!  Our first full blown competition, appearances on national TV twice and on the Bris 31 4x4 shows, again twice.  We've doubled our track capacity, we now have some 90km of varying difficulty tracks.  Toni has been hugely busy and successful with her roasts and the Stables cafe is getting really good use.  We've started doing some wine tours from the Park and plan to do more this year.  On the other had we have not had so much success at keeping our cars.. having blown up the Paj's engine (now a write off), knackered the Navara gearbox, (looking for another box), rolled the Cruiser, (need another cab).  We have gained another Patrol, which would you believe, I'm not allowed to take on the tracks!!

Our success and growth is only due to you, our customers!  A big thankyou from both Toni and I to you all and we'll keep trying to improve the Springs 4x4 to make it even more enjoyable for you!  We both wish you all a great 2008.

New Years 2007

Almost exactly the same as last year, New Years Eve slipped up on us and the weather did not seem to be looking very kind.  Up went the tarps and as normal it then didn't bother to rain!  We had a good crowd and from 6pm onwards the BBQ's were going good time and went on until the band started playing at around 8.30pm.  Everyone was in good spirits, (literally), and the evening went off without a hitch, (well tiny glitches but nothing you would have noticed, with the exception of a car rolling into a tree and a certain person falling into the band!).  We were still going on till the small hours of the morning...pictures probably tell a better story!

Grilla Run

As you may have noticed we are resurrecting the night runs but with a slightly different format.  A social run and a hard run.  We will design the night run so that the "socialites" can watch the rest of us playing hard if they so wish.  Why Grilla?  Well the run comes with a mixed grill and gorillas are tuff?  huh!!  At least there's some relevance and the word "warrior" is being used everywhere so we thought let's try and get something unique!  It also opens up the run to people who want to have a night run in their daily drivers but not necessarily through all the hard bits.  More people more fun!

Springs 4x4 Stickers

OK so it's only taken us 2 years to get there but they now exist.  A beautiful full colour springs car sticker.  Ask at the office and get one now!

Weather

At long last!  The clouds have broken and down came the rain.  In a period of 3-4 weeks we have now had some 360mls of rain.  The dams are full, the waterfall is running, the creeks are running...even the one on the campsite!  Difficulty on the tracks has risen by at least one level and we have found a natural quick sand (even though it's mud) on one track.  Our only wish would be for it to occur Monday to Friday and leave the weekends nice and clear!  It has been a good test for the Park with regard to access though.  Where other Parks have had to close because they are on brown soil we have remained open and very accessible!  So remember if it's raining and you want to go out fourbying we'll be open! 

Tracks

We're busy doing some more tracks.  Some pics below show the logan club on one of the new ones.  More to come...easy to extreme...hopefully by Australia day there will be 3 new ones for you to have as go at!
