Hi All,
Winter is officially over!!! Roll on Spring, a great time to
come and camp here. Not too hot during the day but great at night in
front of the camp fire with a "coldy". For 4-5 days in August we had
the best rainfall for a long time. Not the 800 mls that some areas of
the Sunshine Coast got but a respectable 70mls. This has settled
the dust and allowed some of our grass to regrow and go green! We
needed it and hope that we are going to get some more.

Ladies Pamper Day
We held our first Pamper
day on the 18th August. I had originally offered Toni that I go and
chaperone all the girls for the day, but I was politely told that it was
perhaps my "job" to look after the Park! Toni takes up the story from
here....
"The bus appeared promptly at 9.20 am ready for a 9.30 departure.
Panic started as only myself and one other was at the office.
Suddenly, a bunch of cars could be seen coming down from the campsite.
Relief....everyone's here! After some very brief introductions we all
boarded the bus ready to sample the Granite Belt's finest wines!
Frank, the Italian bus driver introduced himself, with the unforgettable
words..."I'm Frank your driver for today, but if you can't remember my name
just think of me as the Italian stallion!" Within 20 minutes we
arrived at the first winery, Heritage and after a couple of quick early
morning wines one of the girls Ally, was bashing out a tune on the pianola!
From the Heritage we went onto the Summit Winery, then to the College of
Wine at Stanthorpe. By this time everyone in the group knew each other
and spirits were high. The bus was also becoming heavier and heavier
as bottle after bottle of wine was purchased. Frank joked to me that
he was like an airline and that excess baggage would be charged for!
What an incentive to have a drink! We ended up at the Old Caves winery
at Stanthorpe where a life saving lunch was provided! But it didn't
stop there...we then moved onto Vincenzos where we just had to savour some
shooters! We then went back to the Springs, with the volume of noise in the
bus being considerably higher than when we left.
The Body Shop lady was
ready and waiting at the office and there was a definite spring to everyone
that came off the bus! It took some 10 minutes to unload and with a
cheery wave, Frank was off. Five minutes later everyone was seated and
listening. Tanya, whose birthday it was, had the fun of having a
facial and everyone was able to have a look at the all Body Shop products
and goodies. More money was spent on all those things us ladies love!
The boys joined the group and we all then got into a BBQ and should I say
it? More wine!"
Of course whilst the girls were having fun, us boys
were being very responsible....Looking after kids, no wheeling, no drinking
etc....
Our next pamper day is to be held on the 29th September, get your
wife, girlfriend, partner booked in now! The half day tour costs
$55.00 per person, followed by Body Shop and UndercoverWear and finishing
the night with a camp fire and BBQ at the house. If you've got kids
then they are more than welcome to join in on our daughter's birthday...

New
Addition
We have a new addition to our motley collection of animals. One of
the dogs found him and brought him back to the house and left him just by
our front door. Albert the "goat" was probably only a few hours
old when they found him. We have been hand feeding him and now Toni
has a new baby to look after! He (Albert), has now had a change of
name to Abbey the goat as we have now found out he is a she! One very
lucky goat!

That's all for now folks. Thanks to everyone who visited us this
month.
Hope to see you here soon.
Cheers
